1. Our Organization
Saudi Academy is the leading provider of English language training and has a great reputation for excellence in Saudi Arabia. With 30 years training experience we have the expertise your organization needs to meet the challenges of tomorrow. We employ highly qualified native and non-native teachers and trainers and deliver over a thousand hours of courses a year. Saudi Academy Teaching Centre in Riyadh opened in 1983.
2. Corporate Training
We have 30 years’ experience of corporate training in Saudi Arabia. We deliver specialist training in areas as diverse as Banking and Biotech and work with national and international corporations, government and ministries.
Saudi Academy is established as the leader in quality English language training in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia today presents a dynamic business environment and increasingly organizations are asking for our help in training staff in skills which help them organizations meet the challenges of a world which works in English.
We recognize the need for flexibility and responsiveness. Every organization we work with has different needs and objectives. We design bespoke courses to meet organizations’ specific training needs using global resources and modern materials. We encourage clients to give us access to examples of their organization’s documentation so we can integrate these into courses.
3. Customized English courses (CEC)
Our customized courses help participants do their jobs more effectively by improving their business communication skills in English. Whether your organization works in medicine or IT, banking or retail we can deliver the language training you need.
Saudi Academy offers ESP English for Specific Purposes courses. Saudi Academy customized CBEC (Corporate Business English Courses) or CTEC (Corporate Technical English Courses), are designed to meet the job-specific business language training needs of Saudi Arabia organizations, by improving the participants’ business communication skills in English. The CBEC or CTEC is a unique mixture of business English or Technical English and soft skills training, such as “Presentation Skills and Technical Writing” that uses the Council of Europe’s Framework (CEF) for describing communicative language ability. Specific course objectives are determined through a needs analysis. See sections 4 and 6 below.
5. Course Content
With an ESP, CBEC or CTEC course, we conduct a detailed needs analysis before submitting a course program to clients. Our needs analysis consists of a meeting with the client organization’s managers to discuss higher-level business objectives and known skills gaps, and consultation with the course participants. This allows us to draft a course program that is then approved by the client.
Our CBEC or CTEC courses focus on skills development and communication strategies in a practical context. We use a communicative approach and tasks such as ‘role plays’ or simulations which allow participants to practice and demonstrate communicative ability in the most realistic way possible. For example, the task might be to prepare a presentation on a new Royal Saudi Air Force RSAF product or to draft a business report. Everything is relevant to the duties the participants perform at work.
These are practical courses designed to improve communicative ability, both spoken and written. Each session involves language input and discussion, and builds up to a ‘task’, typically in the form of a ‘real-play’ or simulation, that allows participants to practise and demonstrate communicative ability in the most realistic way possible. For example, the task might be to reply to a real-life customer email enquiry, or to present Royal Saudi Air Force RSAF products at a conference. Everything is relevant to the roles the participants perform at work.
Our trainers are qualified native and native-like speakers with extensive international experience of language and skills training. The Corporate Training team is experienced in tailor-made course design and in creating results-driven, motivating training programs. Trainers will be assigned to the courses at a later date.
Course participants are evaluated using a system of ‘continuous assessment’, in which there are a number of assessed tasks during and at the end of the course. Participants must complete at least five assessed tasks to receive a final grade, while the trainer also takes into account the participants’ overall progress in communicative ability during the course.
Our customized courses use traditional English course books. Yet, customized course materials could be compiled by our trainers using materials based on the client organization’s own documentation.
All participants will be given a Saudi Academy file of materials. Course resources will consist of materials created by Saudi Academy team of trainers according to the customized course syllabus.
10. Quality Control
Saudi Academy pursues a global approach to quality control. Our Client Service Standards (CSS) ensure a high level of service to clients. We carry out annual internal CSS audits and three yearly external CSS reviews which include:
